WMAT hosts SEND conference

Warriner MAT recently brought together heads, SENCOs, school staff, trustees and a wide range of speakers for a one-day conference titled "Rethinking Inclusion in Schools"

Hosted at The Warriner School, the conference was designed to foster positive collaboration around a theme that is top of the agenda in many educational organisations.

Keynote speakers included our very own Kenzie and Lex alongside Tim Parkhouse from the Get Fed team, as well as Mr Greenhalgh and Mr Burton talking about Warriner Plus. We welcomed Matt McArthur, Deputy Head of Frank Wise, who talked about creating environments that support emotional regulation. Sharon Kearns from Orchard Fields Primary explained the benefits and logistical challenges of getting a school dog. Jon Gray from Larkrise Primary and Amanda Doy from Willowcroft Community School joined forces to present their journey on Restorative and Relational Practice.

In the afternoon, a panel discussion covered a wide range of topics including staff engagement, funding and SEND reform. The day closed with an engaging presentation by Sarah Beswick from Ninestiles an Academy on their 16 x 16 Personal Development Programme.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to come together, share challenges and best practice, make connections and return to their schools with new perspectives and inspiration.
