Become a Trustee/Governor

The Warriner Multi Academy Trust is governed by Members, who appoint the Trustees and hold them to account; and Trustees, who set the strategic direction and represent the interests of all schools.

Trustees are ultimately responsible for all Trust governance but delegate some actions and monitoring to Trustee subcommittees (for School Improvement, Resources and Audit), Local Academy Committees and the CEO.

Local Academy Committee members are commonly known as “Governors”.

All our Members, Trustees and Governors are highly committed volunteers who contribute a diverse range of skills and experience. Their job is to ensure robust governance and oversight, placing the needs of all our young people at the centre of everything we do.

Becoming a Member, Trustee or Governor is a challenging yet hugely rewarding experience. It provides you with an opportunity to develop your own skills, meet new people and make a valuable contribution to the lives of thousands of children.

Many meetings are held during the evening, although, depending on your role, you may need to visit schools during the working day.

To make an effective contribution, you would need to have:

  • A strong commitment to our vision and values
  • Time to contribute approximately 6-10 days per annum
