The Arts

‘The Arts are an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic …music, dance, painting, and theatre are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment.’

Within The Warriner MAT, the Creative Arts encompass a range of subjects, including performance across art, music, dance and drama. It is our belief that a cohesive Arts education will help to identify and meet key objectives which run through all these subjects.

Our environment stimulates creativity and innovation to enable our children to unleash their imagination.

We believe that by developing skills in creative and performing arts we develop a child's individuality and self-confidence.

Art and Design

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Edgar Degas

Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they should be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design.

They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
